Together We Grow...

Parents play a key role in a child’s early development. Nonetheless, the significance of parental involvement is often underestimated at the pre-K and kindergarten level. That’s why at Downs Preschool we encourage regular communication among parents and teachers.

Your child’s progress will be discussed in scheduled one-on-one conferences in December and May. We also love for parents to help out with the planning and execution of special projects and events. Listed below are a few of our scheduled events.

We also welcome you to come and celebrate your child’s birthday in the classroom if you would like to. Even if your child’s birthday falls during the summer or holiday breaks! Simply contact your child’s teacher and to set up a date and time.

Do you have an interesting hobby, like to craft, have an interesting occupation or speak another language? We would love for you to come and speak to your child’s class! They get really excited when visitors come to visit and share special talents.

We love for families to visit and join in on the fun and the past two years were very difficult for all of us due to the pandemic because we had to restrict ALL visitor access per the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning.  As we prepare for the upcoming school year we are still “optimistically” cautious and will continue to monitor the data from DECAL, the Governor’s Office, the Ga. DPH, and the CDC recommendations for childcare, preschools and K-12.
